For the next two weeks, Gran Turismo 7 players have the opportunity to wrestle classic American muscle around a challenging fictional French circuit. This event pairs the Chevrolet Camaro Z28 1969 with the Alsace Village layout. It is a study in contrasts: you are taking one of Detroit's quintessential, high-revving muscle cars, complete with a live rear axle and a long hood, and throwing it through a track known for its continuous elevation changes and sweeping curves.
To make matters even more interesting, the event locks you onto Sports Hard tires.
Chasing the Gold
The Z28 was Chevy's answer to the Trans-Am racing rules of the era, packing a small-block V8 designed to squeak under the 5.0-liter displacement cap. While it was a track weapon in its day, modern players will find it a demanding challenge to hustle through Alsace's foothills.
As always with Online Time Trials, your goal is to set a lap time as close as possible to the world record. Here is what you are aiming for, though these targets will shift slightly as the world's fastest drivers improve their times:

The Camaro Z28 Time Trial will remain open until August 13. You do not need a PlayStation Plus subscription to participate in Online Time Trials, but you must have unlocked Sport Mode by completing GT Cafe Menu Book 9.

Do Not Forget Fuji
If you prefer modern race cars on sticky tires, you still have a few days left to complete the previous Online Time Trial.
That event, which closes on August 6, drops you into the Gr.2 category at Fuji International Speedway on Racing Medium tires.
Looking ahead, Polyphony Digital has also announced special featured races in Sport Mode to coincide with Round 2 of the 2026 Gran Turismo World Series in Tokyo. Starting August 6, a new Time Trial will open featuring the Red Bull X2019 Competition car at Deep Forest Raceway Reverse, offering double the usual credit rewards.
